Just finished a passage in Jung’s “Aeon” where he talks about how taking up Eastern religion doesn’t quite work for Westerners because our history and the experiences embodied within us is so different. The symbols just don’t connect as much.

I’m not sure if I agree with him but it makes me curious what symbols would connect better to a Western mind since the mysteries of Christianity have fallen away to dogmatic interpretations of specific texts.

I like your God as the cycle of water. It would be fun to brainstorm other verb gods as symbols with you and other readers.

Could God be recycling? The refining of experience?

Or the dance of an atom, the completing of the valence shell?
