I feel like Jung would be oh so very sad to be boxed away as a mystic element to Peterson. This is why he didn’t want his Red Book shared for decades.

He worked to be the scientist and say his work as scientific. Of course, it’s not a science as we know it now but it was done as empirically as possible.

All along the way, he was grafting it with the science of the time.

I feel like Peterson gets more credit simply because most people aren’t as familiar with Jung. He regurgitates material as many new age authors do and then mixes this with questionable interpretations of neuroscience.

But he’s alive with blood in his veins, is around a “fatherly” age to be projected onto and believes himself to be taking a cultural stand that Jung would have never allowed himself to step into.

Jung would have seen this as a betrayal to his role as a psychologist.
